The Winter Coat Edit | 2015

The Winter Coat Edit 2015 - Feature Image.jpg

I love layering pieces, especially in winter, with some incredible winter coats, jackets and vest out this season I thought I would share my favourite picks for winter. These fashion pieces have been sourced from my favourite and go to places to shops, with a mixture of budget friendly and more luxury brands. I would consider some of these pieces as staples and others to be a little more on the trendy side. I have a tendency to pick up neutral pieces especially when it comes to outerwear which I generally invest a little more money on, so having neutral colours allows me to seamlessly mix and match pieces with my current wardrobe.

Charlie Waterfall Jacket

Chic Soft leather with subtle gold hardware, this beautiful leather jacket has a really casual vibe due to the waterfall neckline, however, versatile as all leather pieces generally are can definitely be dressed up as well.

Asilio, a brand dedicated to modern graphic elegance and beautiful designs has one of my favourite layering pieces for winter, though technically a vest it still has a coat vibe, in part due to the length and partly due to the material and structure of the piece. This vest sports side splits up either side of the coat, and is fully lined and with a structured tailored shoulder. I love the leather look, however only man-made leather, it is finished with the most beautiful texture.

Basic Instinct Coat

I am always drawn to the colour grey, and there was no exception with this lovely coat from one of my most loved stores, Dotti. I love the oversized lapel which in my opinion has a feminine quality to it, and beautiful thick texture of the fabric. An easy go to jacket that can be paired up or down, but especially great for basic skinny jeans and neutral colours on top.

Vila Trench Coat

Trench coats are such classics, that to stray too far away from the original design would feel a little sacrilege, this beautiful trench coat by Vila keeps the integrity of the trench coat however adding interest with the colour choice, that being a stone grey, and the length. This piece is light weight, fully lined and sports a chest and yolk tier detailing. I absolutely love the lightness of this piece in both design and colour especially seeing most winter fashion can be heavy and dark, a great juxtaposition in my opinion.

Attitude Hooded Anorak

A very casual adaptation of the classic anorak jacket made so by the fit and added hood detail. I love the khaki colour which I consider along with the usual suspects of black, white, camel, denim to be a staple in the neutral category.  A great layering piece that can transition over to the warmer months and worn trans-seasonally with ease.
