So I Have finally got into the swing of things as far as post baby weight loss and motivation are concerned. This being my third baby I found it a lot harder to lose the baby weight this time, probably from a combination of pure exhaustion and the toll taken on my body from having 3 (count ‘em) three C-sections in a short space of time.
My biggest motivation currently is watching my body change and especially seeing the muscles and strength that I am gaining. It’s much more rewarding and effective if you work on fat loss and toning as opposed to just reducing the number on the scale (at whatever costs, usually includes muscle and water wright and unhealthy approaches).
The three things that I try to include into every breakfast for their fat burning and metabolism boosting qualities are;
Loaded with antioxidants and various substances beneficial for your health and vitality. Green tea has been shown through several studies to help increase your body’s ability to burn fat and is a great aid to be used during weight loss, especially when combine with a clean diet and regular exercise. Green tea contains bioactive substances like caffeine EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) which can have powerful effects on your metabolism.
Cinnamon is fantastic to add to your diet as it has numerous health benefits. Cinnamon helps to control insulin levels and decreases blood sugar levels this is particularly beneficial as high blood sugar levels can lead to increased storage of fat by the body. It also helps to speeds metabolism, lowers LDL cholesterol, burns belly fat and supresses appetite. Cinnamon overall improves gut health and has been long known for its holistic benefits for weight loss and has been used as a natural weight loss tool.
Consuming chilli has incredible effects for fat burning when combined with exercise, when the main substance capsaicin enters the body adrenaline is released into the blood stream causing the breakdown of fat making it easier to burn off later hence the importance of exercise. The most effective time to exercise after eating chilli to reap the full potential of it fat burning methods is 30 minutes after consuming. What’s great to know about this substance is that if you are not particularly fond of spicy food or have little tolerance, there are many fat burning supplements on the market that feature this ingredient and is a great alternative to consider.
I also make sure to incorporate protein into my breakfast for satiety reasons and to help lose fat not muscle. This has been a huge help in curbing any mid-morning binges and gives me a great start to the day when combined with healthy carbs such as oats.
Now another thing I have been really committing to is the 7 minute HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) Workout every morning, despite whether or not I have a workout or gym session planned later that day. It is another brilliant way to get the fat burning process kicked into gear as its benefits continues to work even after you’ve completed your workout.
The Seven minute workout This High Intensive interval training workout includes 12 exercises that use your body weight had has been scientifically formulated and designed to work the entire body and produce similar results to that or endurance training. The exercises should be performed with little to no break in-between each exercise allowing 30 seconds per exercise and performed at an intensity level of 8 on a scale of 1-10.
