Spring Capsule Inspo | Spring 2017

I can be so predictable when it comes to my style, I love basics I love neutral colours and I tend to lean to more girly outfits and sometimes a hippie vibe. Below is a collection of my spring style inspiration that I have scourged the ends of Pinterest for, I love creating style collages to help get my thoughts in order as far as constructing my spring capsule. White Denim and Off the Shoulder   Sweater and Bare Legs   The Mini Skirt   Boho Florals   Pink is the New Nude So there you have it, these are the styles that I am loving of lately and will be incorporating into my wardrobe for the spring season.       Image Credit: all images have been sourced from Pinterest

Hey Stud!

They are simple classy, casual, stylish and one of my favourite accessories to collect! Below is a little collection I’ve put together of some of my favourite stud earrings, everything from fun and playful to classy to sexy, there is something there for every taste… Dark and Moody For a little drama and to bring out your inner bad girl, cause its always nice to change it up once in a while. Fun and Quirky For when you are feeling a little silly, and want to have fun with your piercings, there are a lot more adventures options out there, but these are my favourite. The Double Stud I absolutely adore this style of earring, and think they are so versatile, they look just as amazing with a plain white-tee and jeans as they do a little black dress. Simple Not Plain These dainty little gems can at times go almost missed, but whilst they are small and simple they add a real delicacy and interest to the ear. Aqua Di Aqua I tend to …

Lessons from Madame Chic: 20 Stylish Lessons I Learned whilst living in Paris Book Review

It may or may not be a prerequisite to reading this wonderfully chic and eloquently inspiring read to have a slight obsession with Parisians, style and manners, things I find myself ever drawn to. An enchanting reencounter of the Authors’ time spent pursuing the streets of Paris and ultimately the lessons she both observed and was tutored by her appropriately named host Madame Chic. This is not your typical Parisian style guide, however is more on how to live life with passion, in the moment, to appreciate the little indulgences we afford ourselves and ultimately that a life of joy is the most chic and worthwhile lesson to learn. Of course there are tips on, how French women typically dress, eat and live life in general, and her most popular chapter which led her to deliver her Ted Talk on ‘how to liberate yourself with the 10 – item Wardrobe” is right on trend with the capsule wardrobe phenomenon that has fashionistas everywhere de-cluttering and restyling their wardrobes. I love this book for obvious reasons, …

The Autumn Accessories Edit

Having finally lost the majority if not all of my baby weight I am finding my interest peaking in fashion and developing my personal style now that I am happy with the way my clothes are fitting. Currently I’m pretty focused on assembling a capsule wardrobe, finding and sorting out the key pieces to evolve the capsule around, I noticed a massive hole in my accessories collection and wanted to add a few great pieces to my autumn wardrobe. So I’ve done a little research and found my autumn accessories edit, here are my favourite finds that I’ll be adding to my collection! Myer Miss Shop Geo Open Ring $12.95 I’m still a big fan of the marble trend, so was really drawn to the Miss Shop Geo Open Ring. It’s got a little bit of everything that I love, a bit of gold, a bit of marble, a little bit geometric. I love that it’s a somewhat minimalistic statement ring (if that’s even a thing) it’s interesting enough to be a stand-alone piece but …

The Maybe Pile | Tips on de-cluttering your wardrobe

My favourite area by far to de-clutter is my wardrobe, not entirely sure why, my inkling though is that I get the most satisfaction from cleaning out my closet. There is something about waking up to an immaculate closet with not only clean clothes (so staying on top of the washing) but to see it full with only your favourite pieces that make you happy and that you actually wear. stylizingmoblog.com I am definitely on the capsule wardrobe bandwagon (for good though) a concept I stumbled across whilst watching my much loved Tedx talks. There are so many inspirations out there and people sharing their methods but I personally love The 10 Item Wardrobe by Jennifer Scott and am eagerly waiting to get my grubby hands on her book Lessons from Madame Chic, and a close is Project 333. The most challenging part of creating a capsule wardrobe is supposed to be the initial clothing detox where you eliminate a massive portion of your wardrobe leaving  only what fits you well, what is appropriate wear …

The Winter Coat Edit | 2015

I love layering pieces, especially in winter, with some incredible winter coats, jackets and vest out this season I thought I would share my favourite picks for winter. These fashion pieces have been sourced from my favourite and go to places to shops, with a mixture of budget friendly and more luxury brands. I would consider some of these pieces as staples and others to be a little more on the trendy side. I have a tendency to pick up neutral pieces especially when it comes to outerwear which I generally invest a little more money on, so having neutral colours allows me to seamlessly mix and match pieces with my current wardrobe. Forever New   Charlie Waterfall Jacket $129.99 Chic Soft leather with subtle gold hardware, this beautiful leather jacket has a really casual vibe due to the waterfall neckline, however, versatile as all leather pieces generally are can definitely be dressed up as well. Asilio Partner in Crime Vest $239.95 Asilio, a brand dedicated to modern graphic elegance and beautiful designs has one of …

Dressing for Two | What to Wear to a Christening

We just had little Rose’s Christening over the weekend, something I had been meaning to get around to for the longest time. I had originally planned to get her christened before she turned one, which obviously didn’t happen seeing she is now 17 months old. I had a little panic the night before after trying on a maternity dress I had worn with my previous pregnancy to a wedding which made me look like a tent (insert sad face), just goes to show each pregnancy and how you carry is very different. So realising that there wasn’t the slightest chance I was going to walk out the door let alone be seen in that dress had me on a last minute dash to find a suitable dress. “At Dressing for Two, we believe that expectant mothers are beautiful and should feel beautiful in the clothes they wear; they should have the opportunity to reflect their personality and mood through their appearance. As such, we only sell high quality, affordable, modern and stylish maternity wear and …

Getting Ready for a Creative Day

Being a stay at home mum, especially a pregnant stay at home mum, it’s very easy to find yourself fallen in to a slump. Whether that slump is referencing your style, inspiration, being organised or all of the above, I find getting out of the house, or at the very least outdoors, and or engaging in an activity that gets your creative juices flowing really helps get things back on track. Today’s misadventures consisted of outdoor playtime for the kids whilst I buried my head in my computer working furiously on updating my blog layout (you may have already noticed some changes), and later on I will be attempting to create a fabulous and hopefully tasty birthday cake for Mason’s party which is happening tomorrow. For days such as these I find something comfortable, relaxed but still suitable to walk out the door on short notice looking presentable usually works well. My go to clothing pieces start with the basics, a great pair of maternity jeans, loose knitted jumper, statement necklace and of course the …

Maternity Outfit of the Day

Pregnancy can be a really challenging time in your life, however what makes things a little harder is waking up feeling frumpy from you’re not so glamorous or symmetrically round bump, and having to dress that unsymmetrical bump. I love fashion, but find maternity clothes so limiting, there are some great sites out there with more stylish pieces, ASOS being one of the best, however maternity clothes rarely fit me right and I end up looking worse than I intended. So this is a little example of how I like to style or even just dress my bump… What I’m wearing… Outerwear: Cotton On below the knee length black and white Aztec print batwing cardigan Top: Dotti basics white t-shirt (not maternity fit either) Bottoms: Big W Over the bump leggings (these are the most comfortable and flattering pair I have found, highly recommend them, super affordable too) Shoes: Target Maroon flats Accessories: Lovisa Geometric Bangle and cowhide skull necklace
