Christmas Decor Inspiration

Today I wanted to share with you some Christmas Tree and Christmas Decor Inspiration. I’ve been struggling a little since having my children and having the whole dynamic of Christmas change, to enjoy holiday season. Now whilst I enjoy celebrating Christmas with my kids and all that entails; With Santa, little Christmas traditions, Presents in the stocking, I did notice that in the process of trying to recreate the magic of Christmas I enjoyed as a child with my own children, I sort of lost my interest and love of Christmas. Too Much emphasis was placed on the children, even to the point where I stopped getting presents for myself and my partner for Christmas, and what essentially happened was I turned in to a mean green Mummy Grinch, so my solution this year to reclaim my love and enjoyment for Christmas was to Decorate my tree, a very spindly neglected and un-thought of Christmas presence that had become quite drab and very un-festive. Now its not about having the most beautiful tree, or the …

Depression and Motherhood | Starting YouTube

So after a really long time of both battling depression and whether or not to start a YouTube channel, something I have been wanting to do for quite some time now, I have finally uploaded a very honest and very unedited first video which I thought I would share here on my blog. I’m hoping to continue this random streak of courage and upload more videos soon; based on a theme of motherhood, self-exploration and talking about depression and ways I am coping and hopefully curing my own. It would be wonderful if you could show a little love and support and check out my video, (my channel is called; finding me-again) it would be greatly appreciated.   Hope you’re having a wonderful day.

Sangria on Sundays | The Importance of Hard Work and Rest

All week long we hustle, we lead as a society very hectic lives filled to the brim with appointment after appointment, schedules so filled we can’t juggle our responsibilities. And whilst I whole-heartedly believe in balance and making time for rest and restoration of soul, I also wanted to emphasise how import I think it is for us to feel busy, to feel needed and important. I believe it gives us purpose and drive to have a week full of accomplishments especially when viewed in retrospect. Rest is so much sweeter when our bones are tired, when our minds are in need of content download, being so over whelmed from our week lived. I believe this is much more superior to having a week filled with little or no passion, no chaos. For me I like to adopt the mantra Sangria on Sundays, a saying used to serve as a reminder to relax and take time for yourself, not for the purpose of self-improvement but rather to do nothing, because sometimes nothing is good for …

How to Get Shit Done and Achieve Goals

“It’s in the little things… How small goals help you reach the big ones.” So I recently came up with yet another list, in the midst of what can only be described as a personal shit storm, being completely out of action after not only getting my wisdom teeth out but also spraining my ankle and a myriad of coughs, colds and bugs, in which I found motivation from my lack of motivation, mobility and in general chaotic messy and unorganised surroundings. I don’t know about you, but I am constantly making lists, and dream boards, and more lists and I say things like ‘when’ and ‘if’ yet never really feeling like I achieve let alone complete anything. I figured it’s time to stop wish and wanting and lusting after what others have and just get shit done for myself. Because if not now, when? So I made one more list…  My Everyday List! A list of all the little things I aim to do every day, all the small and insignificant things we promise …

Giving Up Perfection

When did good enough stop being good enough, and perfection the new norm? More specifically when did perfection take over my life, infiltrating every aspect until nothing was no longer good enough, and the internal struggle of comparison, self-doubt and dissatisfaction became my reality? Today it seems we are surrounded with persuasive images via media and advertisements that time and time again reinforce the message that we are not good enough. For the most part we aren’t even aware of their motivates, and if we are, either choose to turn a blind eye, or get swept up in the consumerist culture, driven by our need to fit in and be liked, that we buy in to the lie; we are not good enough as we are? Like blind sheep, and naive children we follow the like of zombies from birth to death never really stopping to question. The life we are striving for are lived by some of the most unhappy and distorted people. Money doesn’t buy you happiness, rather it buys you things and …

January Loves

Here is a new little segment I am planning on incorporating into my blog on a monthly basis, where at the end of every month I share 5 things from the month that I have been loving, this can include anything from inspirational quotes, beauty products, food, media, books or articles, persons of interest and the likes. Now because there are more topics than what I plan to share as my five loves for the month, I plan to interchange which categories to share allowing me to be more organic with what I am actually loving that month and to offer a variety of inspiration and ideas. This month has been quite an inspirational one for me, I’ve been binge watching ted talks and really getting into the spirit of the New Year. So here you have my first and January loves… Food Smoothie bowls, really what can I say but, delicious, nutritious and satiating. My go to recipe, which I rarely tamper with includes these ingredients; 2 bananas, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 tablespoon PB2 …

Dear 2016 | Promises, Resolutions and Goals

Let me start of by saying thank you to 2015, which for me like many was filled with highs and lows, milestones, moments of awe, excitement and gratitude along with the mundaneness of everyday life with and a few misadventures thrown in for good measure. Like many, the New Year brings with it the hope for a better year and for some closure on any unwanted moments, events and heartache that the previous year might have dealt them. December has come and gone, party dresses and the evidence of Christmas packed away, and all that lingers is our New Year resolutions which more often than not are overly ambitious promises. Promises we make to ourselves all in hopes of bettering our lives and our experiences. However, now that we are well into January and the haze and euphoria of new years has dwindled from a roaring passion and enthusiasm to a guilty reminder of promises we are already pushing aside as reality reveals its ugly head and the harshness of daylight weighs heavily on our …

Materialistic lusts and worldly inspirations #4 Boho Vibes

I used to be a little more bohemian back in the day, funny how life alters you. Here is a collection of images that really identify with the adventurous, wandering soul side of my personality where creativity and freedom of thought, mind and soul are expressive and meaningful. I still love to add boho chic pieces to my outfits, and am especially drawn to jewellery pieces that have strong boho vibes. **Note: these images are not my own but have been sourced from Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr and other such forms of social media.
